You can place a bet or cash in your winning tickets at any teller window or by using any
self serve teller machine. It's as simple as A...B...C...D.
Just place your bet in this order.
A. Track: Tell the clerk where (what race track) you would like to place your wager.
B. Amount: Tell the clerk how much you want to bet such as "two dollars..."
C. Type of wager: Tell the clerk what type of wager you would like to make: win, place, show, exacta, quinella, trifecta, ect... There are numerous types of wagers available. As described below.
D. Horse Number(s): Tell the clerk what horse(s) (by number(s) in the program) that you would like to bet.
Please check your tickets prior to leaving the window. Errors can be made, but only corrected before the race starts.
Advanced wagering: You can wager on any race at any race track that is running that day or night.
Winning tickets: Winning tickets can be cashed at any self serve teller machine or with any clerk for up to one year.
Odds: This is figured on the total amount of dollars wagered in the win pool. For Example, the more money wagered on any particular horse lowers the win odds of that horse.
TYPES OF WAGERS
Win: The first horse to cross the finish line wins. You win if your selection finishes first.
Place: The second horse to cross the finish line places. You will if your selection finishes first or second.
Show: The third horse to cross the finish line shows. You win if your selection finishes first, second or third.
Daily Double: This is a combination of two horses finishing first in two consecutive races. You win if your selections finish first in each of the two races waged. Note: not all races have daily doubles available.
Quinella: The combination of two horses finishing first and second in either order.
Exacta: The combination of two horses finishing first and second in the exact order you wagered. Example: $2 exacta 4-3 means that the four horse must win and the three horse must finish second. You can also "box" the two horses so that it works like a quinella (only you get half of the $2 exacta payout). $1 exacta box costs $2.
Trifecta: The combination of three horses finishing first, second and third in the exact order. Similar to the exacta, but with three horses. You can also box a trifecta when the three horses can finish in any order of first, second and third. $1 trifecta box costs $6
Superfecta: The combination of four horses finishing first, second, third and fourth in the exact order. Similar to the trifecta, but with four horses. You can box the superfecta at a cost of $24 for a $1 box
Pick 3's, 4's and 6's: These work like the daily double, only you have to have the winners of three, four or six consecutive races.
